..but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.” Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, (Mark 10:40, 43 NIV84)
Positions are meant for specific people for specific tasks. What Jesus cared about much in this passage is that regardless of our positions, we must have a servant attitude put-on at all times. Doesn't matter whether we are in position or not -- though being in position is never bad either, we must still serve. The ones who serve is greater than one who has position alone.
I will serve no matter what. I know it's hard when we're also being treated as a servant but God wants me to serve even if i am in not in position of leadership (by a title). Servanthood is leadership itself. Therefore, God cares about me serving than I am being in position.
// Lord, remind me that no matter what position I am in, that I will serve you still a especially when I do not feel like doing it. You will be my strength and grace to walk me through that time. In Jesus' name amen.
