Two Things to Learn From the Story of Stephen

Acts 7:57
At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him...

Not all who have the majority, loud voice is in the right. Even the whisper of Stephen, we an outcry of the right. But even Stephen was spiritually mature enough to discern and ask the Lord to ''not hold this sin against them..."

Two things:

1. Just cause they're loud, doesn't mean you would categorize them as right. Not does when I am dominantly loud in my opinion that doesn't mean I am right. Rightness can only be judged as truth if indeed based upon truth of God's absolute truth.

2. Spiritually mature people are able to discern which ones is 'innocent sin' or 'deliberate sin' thus able to 'let things go' because they understand the immaturity of people.

// I sure do need to balance both out - to learn speak loudly only when aligned with the absolute truth of God. Opinions are okay but be ready to be corrected when in the wrong. Be also able to let go those who are immature in their actions, and just offer them up to the Lord as what Stephen did.

// Lord, give me strength to balance both out -- that only you can help me and let me be successful in that endeavor. Help me to hear the right voice - your voice of truth. I commit to you the times when it's hard to let go the immature ones. Help me to act more maturely today and onwards. In Jesus' name amen.
