See, Hear. Perceive, Understand

He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, “ ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’ ” (Mark 4:11, 12 NIV)

When you seek, you will find. Similarly, in the reading of God's Word, we ought to seek Him, anticipating God's Word to speak deep within us. When we have an open heart to receive the Word, then we would see and perceive and hear and understand what God is really saying.

Sometimes i am guilty of reading but not really seeking. When I am in a rush to get through the reading & not really have an open heart to God's word, I simply just do it in-passing. Need to continually seek God with ALL my heart.

Lord, may I not ever give up in seeking You. May i not be bogged down by what life throws at me. I pray that I'd continually read and perceive, hear and understand you clearly. In Jesus' name, amen.
