Proverbs 11:7
Hopes places in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing.
Only in Christ can we truly trust. Many people promise and give their word yet do not always follow-through.
Which area am I putting trust in mortal right now? Could be the "security" I have in my job. Praise God for this job that is able to provide yet it is important to not be completely attached to it. Keep the boundaries -- be faithful, make a difference, be awesome - but do not make it the final trust of income or provision nor future. Only in Christ alone through these means. Do the will of God yet do not trust mere mortals nor hope in them, but in Christ alone.
// Lord, help me to not put my trust in what will eventually end in human terms. Help me to just rely in your truth and in your promises. I know this is not a license not to trust people but it is a way to really ONLY trust in You. In Jesus' name, amen!
