I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.
Paul's amazing passion to present the church of Corinth is remarkable. A few great principles here from the the leadership of Paul:
- Know your vision. ("to one husband, to Christ")
- Determine your goal in relation to your vision (...that I might present you.. pure")
- Be accountable by expressing it ("I promised you...")
Simple yet profound.
// As someone who leads a group of young people, I know that I need to have as much - if not more - passion as that of Paul. What struck me the most is that fact that his GOAL was clear - to present them as pure virgin to Christ. "Untainted" group of people in the eyes of Christ. He must've guarded them not to fall into any type of temptation causing them to "lose their innocence".
I need to always go back to the vision - Christ! To have a goal - to be the shepherdess of my little flock. To be accountable - by letting them know of this; pouring out my heart to them.
// Lord, please give me a heart as that of Paul - to always be pointed to the ultimate reason for why ministry on this earth exists. Thank you Lord for the example of Paul and I pray that I would be the same. In Jesus' name, amen.
