The Righteous

A righteous man may have many troubles, but The Lord delivers him from them all: he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. -Psalm 34:19-20

If there is one person who knows what this means, literally, it would be David.  He wrote this Psalm while he flee from the terror Saul.  Yet, he knew that regardless of his troubles, he hid behind the shadow of God's protection.  He knew from his heart that as a righteous person, the Lord will deliver him from troubles; all in-tact and no harm to come close to him.

A few things to note:
.. David knew the promises of God
.. He knew God - His faithfulness to the righteous
.. David remained righteous regardless of his circumstances

How easy would it have been for us to retaliate when someone is 'after our destruction'?  Yet, if we are confident of who we are in the Lord (our righteous position through Christ), His never-failing promises, and our daily practical application of such, we will see ourselves delivered from the evil that we face daily.

// Praise God for His grace and mercy! I am only able to remain in Him because He is good and His promises are never-failing.  I know that my troubles may not be as crazy as that of David, yet I know that if I am just confident in my position with the Lord - in the righteousness of Christ, I know that He will deliver me from any trouble.  I've had many troubles throughout this past year but I know that only God's grace has enabled me to get through it, and until now getting through it still.  I will continue to remain righteous in the Lord and trust in His promises.

:: Lord, I do not quite understand this much besides the fact that you always deliver in Your promises.  I pray that You would help me to see things according to Your promises.  That because you are good, you made me righteous in Christ.  Because you are good, you protect me from what could have been a disaster in my life. Thank you for the wisdom, and for your goodness always.  Help me to remember this that I may praise You!  In Jesus' name, amen.
