At One Time We Too

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, (Titus 3:1-5 NIV)

"At one time we too..." reminds us that those who follow us or those that we admonish are just like who we used to be.  We ought to remind them as we remind ourselves, that only through God's kindness, love and mercy we were saved. 

..Keep moving forward, I have grown in The Lord.  

..Be patient to those who are still on the way to growth.

..Remind yourself that it is by God's grace we have been saved.

..To also do what we remind people of: subject to rulers and authorities, be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. 

// Lord, thank you for the reminder that I too was once like those who are on the wa to growth.  Help me not to stop but to keep growing and being an example to those who also follow you.  I know that you will use me to be an example to those who follow behind.  In Jesus' name, amen.
