Temporary Trials

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.  These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.  (1 Peter 1:6-7)

If we have the right perspective - knowing that we have the living hope and the fullness of salvation that is yet to come - we do not weary during times of trial.  We can be assured that trials are only temporary.  God allows us to experience them to prove the genuineness of our faith ultimately to result in praise, glory and honor as Christ is revealed - through it and through it all.

What perspective do I have when it comes to trials?
Do I think of the 'now' or the glory revealed 'later' in Christ?
What are steps that I can do to change my perspective when I experience trials?

I know I will be tested this next few days as we are in the last leg of preparation for Summer Youth Blast.  Yet, I know that these tests - big or small - will be proofs of my genuineness in my faith in the Lord, the salvation that God has already given me now and is later revealed in its fullness.  I must endure and persevere knowing that these trials are small compared to the bigness of God's glory that will be revealed through these trials that come my way.  I will give the praise, glory and honor to Jesus Christ - the giver of strength and the empowering lasting force within me!

// Lord, thank you for the amazing reminder that trials are just temporary.  Help me to constantly keep this in mind and to keep you in the center of my actions as they come.  I pray that you help me not to be surprised anymore as they come but rather, be prepared to fight this battle with confidence knowing that I will win! Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
