To the Very End

We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. (Hebrews 6:11, 12 NIV)

What a reminder! It is indeed true that at times we become lazy in our diligence - in even the basic things: prayer, reading God's word, being faithful, on fire, evangelism, loving people, etc. It is advised in this verse that we IMITATE those who inherited what was promised.  Never said it was also easy for them. But it is mentioned that it was THROUGH FAITH AND PATIENCE.  That equates with time! 

Though many times we become tired in our diligence of our love for God, yet we need to remember that we need MENTORS, and ENDURE IN FAITH AND PATIENCE as we show our diligence to the very end.

I need to remember that this will take time. To learn from others. And to continue until the very end! 

// Lord, help me to endure and to be able to truly learn from others, both mentors and just people in general. Help me to especially imitate those who have inherited your promises - both on earth and those who've already gone ahead of us! In Jesus' name, amen.
