God has given us the honor to baptize people in water - to witness a confession of a new believer. This reminds me that we have a huge call to mankind - to baptize them in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey ALL that Jesus have commanded us. Our call is equally important as that of John the Baptist. He may have baptized people with water but he was also sure that Jesus was going to baptize them with the Holy Spirit - someOne that He gives when His spirit dwells in the person's life.
As we do our job - witnessing, baptizing and teaching (discipleship), we can be sure that God does His part - baptizing in the Holy Spirit! Wow. What a God!
// I am honored to be one who will witness the salvation of many this coming weekend at SYB! I will be faithful in sharing the Gospel, baptizing, and discipling in the best method possible and available in my own setting. I can trust that God will do His part in filling us with the Holy Spirit.
Lord, help me to always be faithful to you, Thank you for your word that is so good of a reminder and rebuke for us who need it. Help me to constantly not have the passion of just one component but in all aspects if my following you! I believe you will do your part as I do mine. In Jesus' name, amen.
