One Hard Command

And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. (Luke 6:33, 34 NIV)

By far still one if the hardest command.  Yet it is also one determining factor of our attachment to Christ.  Those who still hate on the haters prove their identity - one who may have never been renewed and changed by the changing power of Christ.

I, however, have been changed by the blood of the Lamb.  I have struggled of this lately but the past few days have been a great encouragement of affirmation that I can change this - my reaction towards those I really do not like at the moment.  There will no difference between me and those who aren't believers if I just be like them - hating on others through forms of irritation.  I will love those who are unlovable and not expect to be paid back... That is hard.  But for The Lord, I will do it.

Lord, you know this has been a struggle for me lately.  But I know that you are faithful in everything that you do.  I trust in your ways and though I do not understand some of the things happening in my life, You are sovereign in all that you do.  So I will trust in you!  You are good and your mercy endures forever! I will love you and live for you. In Jesus' name, amen.
