Songs Of The Lord

How can we sing the songs of The Lord while in a foreign land? If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right and forget its skill.  May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not ocnsider Jerusalem my highest joy. (Psalm 137:4-6 NIV)

For the Israelites, being in Jerusalem was their highest joy.

Translating to our situations today, it is being in the presence of The Lord.  How can we "sing songs OF THE LORD" when are not in the presence of The Lord - as if we are in a 'foreign land?'  Indeed, we ought to realize the state of our condition.

It really is realizing that we can't fake God.  We can't be singing songs OF THE Lord when we know we need to press that 'reset' button and make it right with God.  Let our songs OF THE Lord be an outflow of our true worship to Him.  May our service to Him be an expression of our love to Him.  Not in replacement of us being in His presence.

// I don't want to be hypocritical in my worship.  I want o be real in my service and in my actions towards The Lord.  I don't want to be singing songs OF THE Lord while I am in a foreign land.  I desire to be real.

Lord, I want to only do things out of the reality of what's in my heart.  Even if I  have to keep doing it in order to get to where I need to be, I will do so.  Help me to live for You in the purest form of my life.  I want to live for You wholly.  In Jesus' name, amen.
