Wk 29 Day 4
Psalm 84:5 (NIV)
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
(KJV)
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
(NASB)
5How blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
In whose heart are the highways to Zion!
Pilgrimage - (noun) a journey, esp. a long one, made to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion.
Those who look towards and have put their hearts on the highways to Jerusalem (Zion - heavenly Jerusalem; heaven) is blessed.
Blessed - blissfully happy or contented
:: What is this pilgrimage I am heading towards to? I know my ultimate goal is heaven - Zion. That is where my heart should be headed towards - to meet the Almighty. It says that I am blessed (content, blissfully happy) when my heart is set towards that pilgrimage.
When one thinks about the pilgrimage to Zion, a long journey, sometimes we get weary in walking/running towards it. But we are reminded to put our strength in God - the one who will sustain us and give us the ability to keep going. Though this journey may be long, by putting our strength in Him, we can be rest assured that we will be blessed - always happy blissfully, and contented. How awesome is that?!
:: I do get weary sometimes in this long journey. There are many times I want to give up. But I must put my strength in God who will sustain me. I have a personal Zion that I am heading towards to. A sacred journey; I will get there one day. I must not give up and must continually put my strength in God alone. I must set my heart on one day reaching to this Zion.
>> Lord, thank You for reminding me to persevere. I pray that my mind and heart will always be set on that goal - my "Zion" and ultimately THE Zion - heavenly Jerusalem). What is awaiting me today? Please sustain me Oh Lord. My strength is in You alone. I find rest in You. Help me not to be weary as I continue to walk and run in this long journey. This pilgrimage (both earthly and heavenly) is offered to You. I will rest my strength in You. In Jesus' name, amen.
