Micah 7:18-20
18 Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
20 You will be true to Jacob,
and show mercy to Abraham,
as you pledged on oath to our fathers
in days long ago.
// THOUGHTS:
This just plainly and especially reminds me of the greatness of my Lord. Who is like the Lord? There is no one!
HE…
- pardons sins
- forgives transgression
- does not stay angry forever (meaning, he gets angry)
- delights to show mercy
- is compassionate
- treads [steps on, trample] our sins underfoot
- hurl [throw, cast down] our iniquities into the depths of the sea
- is true and shows mercy to our forefathers
- is true to what he pledged [promised] even in days long ago
// BELLE:
He is worthy of all my praise. My life must show full devotion to Him because He deserves it. He is my deliverer. He is my guide; my refuge and my mender. He is the source of all my joy and my comforter.
Since He is my God and there is no one like him, I must live my life that is worthy to the call of being a believer of who He is. The list above tells me who he is (not even all of it yet). Therefore, I must walk in victory for He is my forgiver and look forward to a great future because of His promises that He never fails to fulfill.
Forgiveness, Hope, Bright future.
// Lord, thank you for just who you are. Thank you for the reassurance of the forgiveness you have already given to me; the compassion you have showed to me; and the security of your promises in my life. You are everything to me. Help me to live my life worthy of the call I have received from you; first as a believer then my specific callings. Help me to be faithful to You for You deserve it. Thank you for Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
