Zechariah 8:14-17 “14 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Just as I had determined to bring disaster upon you and showed no pity when your fathers angered me," says the LORD Almighty, 15 "so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid. 16 These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; 17 do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD.”
// THOUGHTS:
It’s interesting to see how the Lord promised to bless Jerusalem but yet, He has conditions for these promises to manifest. For example, v. 13 says “13 As you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong." He said he will save and commanded them to not be afraid BUT LET YOUR HANDS BE STRONG.
One principle here is that the Lord is willing to bless, save, provide, heal, etc… BUT we need to “let our hands be strong” or to do “the things we are to do” to somehow, “complete” the manifestation of that grace. This is a great example of what people say “God will do His part when we do our part.” and it is true.
How many times has God told us that He will heal, He will mend, He will provide, He will give us peace, etc? Countless of times. But how come a lot of people are still experiencing otherwise? Perhaps, we have not done our part to complete that manifestation.
Let us stop expecting God to do something for what He’s promised to do when we ourselves are not doing our part. It could just be us that is stopping God’s manifestation of blessings to pour and happen.
// BELLE:
From last night’s darkest night moment, I’ve asked God to give me peace and help me let go of some things that I am having a hard time dealing with in my personal life. God has already promised peace – but I need to “complete” that peace on my part by letting go of what “the Lord hates”. One is my distrust with some people. Another is counting the wrongs (which is not a fruit of agape love). These are not of God and these are not thoughts of God.
Need to let go of those thoughts. Need to learn to trust people again regardless of what they may do that will cause not to trust them again. Need to let go counting the wrongs and keeping records of them. These are not of God and must do my best to wean myself off of these thoughts.
// LORD, you know my heart. Please help me to make sure I filter out my mind with what only pleases you and what only aligns with your Word. I pray that you please help me let go of those thoughts and destroy the records of wrongs I have been keeping with some people. You know how hard this is for me but I also know that You are able to remove those at an instant as long as I am willing. Thank you Lord because there is victory in You. I lift this up to you in Jesus’ name, amen.
