Acts 27:23-25
23Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me 24and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.' 25So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.
// THOUGHTS:
Paul, even in the worse situations, was still able to stand tall in his faith in God. What made Paul very confident about his encouragement to the people in the ship aside from him doing God’s will?
- God told him through an angel
- He was secure in his position in Christ (“…whose I am.”)
- What the angel told Paul was logical and specific (…You must stand trial before Caesar.)
// BELLE:
What makes me sure of my faith in specific things I have been praying for about?
- God can tell me through His Word or even a supernatural event to the point of an angel appearing
- My life is secure in Christ. Am I secure in my position? Yes, of course
- What God tells me can be specific to certain situations.
Now… I just need to keep courage and have faith in God that what He says will happen.
// LORD, thank you for reminding me over and over again that you have already said some things specifically to answer some questions and confirm some things that I needed to hear from you about. Help me to keep courage and grow in my faith in you. As I wait for the manifestation of that message, like how Paul may have experienced a shipwreck and bitten by a viper but didn’t die, help me to endure and persevere and just have faith in You at what you already said. I lift my life to You in Jesus’ name, amen.
