Week 5 Day 7
Exodus 39-40; Psalm 15; Acts 12
Psalm 15:5c
He who does these things will never be shaken.
Here's a list of things a righteous person does (or a person who dwells in the Lord's sanctuary):
.. blameless walk (v. 2a)
.. does what is right (v. 2b)
.. speaks the truth from his heart (v. 2c)
.. does not speak slander (v. 3a)
.. doesn't do wrong against his neighbor (v. 3b)
.. casts no slur against his fellowman or does not speak evil against his neighbor (v. 3c)
.. despises a vile man (v.4a)
.. honors those who fear the Lord (v. 4b)
.. keeps his oath even when it hurts (v.4c)
.. lends money without usury or lends money without interest (v.5a)
.. does not accept bribes (v. 5b)
That's a lot of things to think about. However, these are just put together simply by putting on the attitude of Christ in us. It says, those who does these things will never be shaken.. meaning, this person must be strong and grounded; nothing can ever move him - no trial, no persecution, no temptation, no tribulation can move him because his foundation is grounded.
Would you like to be immovable? Remain righteous in practical living as Christ has already paid for the ransom for us to be in right standing with God already. Stay in the vine and bear fruit. Develop these character traits and see the manifestation of this promise happen in your life.
// BELLE:
Oh do I have a lot to work on? I need to put on the attitude of Christ daily. I know I am making progress in being molded to be more and more like Christ - by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Yet, I know I have a long way to go. I must make it a goal daily to put on a Christ-like attitude that I may be immovable and one called to be someone who cannot be shaken regardless of what's going on around me - with the trials, temptations, daily journey, etc.
// LORD, it is impossible to live up to Your standards. Yet, I thank you because you have given us enough grace to sustain us daily so one day, we may reach the ultimate day of that final sanctification. I know there are still a lot of things I am working on in my life as I continue to obey and follow You, and I believe that You are in me to help me get through everyday living. Make me immovable Lord as I trust in You and do what You will for me to do. In Jesus' name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, amen.
