Week 6 Day 4
Leviticus 7-9; Acts 15
Leviticus 8:35-36
You must stay at the entrance to the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and do what the LORD requires, so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded.” So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD commanded through Moses.
Talk about confidence in God-delegated authority! Aaron, even being one who is older, obeyed and DID EVERYTHING the Lord commanded THROUGH Moses. God used Moses to ordain Aaron and his sons as the priests, gave a list of things to do in order to complete this ordination (through a series of offerings), and guided them (Aaron and sons) on the last parts of the ordination where in the glory of the Lord was to appear.
The Lord provides and will provide people in our lives that will help us get shaped to who God wants us to become. These people, like Moses, will help us have "the list" of things to do, go through "the ordination" process, and "the conclusion" of things to complete what God intends for us to be.
The call for us is to trust them; to have confidence in whom God has sent for us. These are parents, Pastor, leaders, and other people who are our mentors and true friends who are there to support us in the process. Trust the Lord through them.
// BELLE:
Funny how my devotion, most of the time, goes along with what I need to teach others as well. Praise God, He's a wisdom-providing God!
I could be the "Moses" or I could also be the "Aaron and Sons".
Being the "Moses", I must be faithful in helping others get to where they're supposed to be by being diligent in hearing what the Lord has to say that I may guide them in spirit and truth according to God's Word alone. To be discerning that my guidance will be Spirit-filled and Spirit-led; not out of what I feel they should do.
Being the "Aaron and sons", I must put my confidence and trust in whom God has delegated over me. Even at times when it doesn't make sense, I must trust that this is what God wants me to do as what He has told these delegated authorities to advise on me. I must be faithful in carrying it out as well.
Lord, You are so good! I pray that You whether I be the "Moses" or the "Aaron and sons", that I may be faithful in obeying You and submitting to what You are telling me to do. It's awesome that You have ALL the answers, ALL the steps needed, ALL the wisdom and grace needed for this journey of life. I trust in You always including trusting those whom You have placed over me. Help me to respond to Your grace with joy! In Jesus' name, amen.
