Sin is Sin

Week 6 Day 3 (con't)
Leviticus 4-6

Leviticus 5:17
“If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.

Sin is sin in the eyes of the Lord whether we know it or not.  Innocence is no excuse.  We have the conviction and even the moral standard (perhaps, to those who don't believe) that each human being is capable of recognizing.  We have no excuse for what we do that is against the law of God - both the law of Moses and the law of the Spirit.

Are recognizing these in our lives?  The things that fall of the standards of God?  As believers, how are we dealing with it?  1 John 1:9 gives us great encouragement:  " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."  Confess and repent.  The Lord is faithful.

// BELLE:

Ties in to yesterday's teaching at Sunday School and tonight's teaching at LCU.  Sin can be dealt with with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  If the influence of sin in me crouches at the door, I must no open it.  I must no entertain it.  And with the ones I've entertained recently, I must confess them to the Lord immediately and turn away from them.

// LORD, forgive me for giving in to the influence of sin in my life.  I pray that you will help me to be strong in resisting the fleshly temptations that crouch at my door daily.  I pray that You will empower me to be victorious as I know you would.  Give me power, Oh Lord as I also know you will.  Help me to grab hold of that power and willfully obey you with all that I can and am.  In Jesus' name, amen.
