Skilled and Willing

Week 5 Day 6

Exodus 35-36; Acts 10

Exodus 36:1-2
So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded.”   Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. ³ They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. ⁴ So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing ⁵ and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.”

.. They also had help from other people who were skilled and had the ability to know how to carry out the work
.. There are those who are skilled and knowledgeable but probably weren't willing
.. There are also those who are skilled and knowledgeable and were willing to do the work
.. The people who were willing brought their offerings and it was overflowing - they had more than what was needed

The Lord truly appoints specific people to carry out specific jobs in His kingdom here on earth (like the ones who are especially mentioned and named) as well as those who aren't named but are also skilled and knowledgeable to help carry out the work.

The Lord blessed the temple because of the people's willing hearts to bring offering daily.  It was their willingness, not to mention their skill and ability, that the Lord blessed thus there was an overflowing supply of freewill offerings.

• The Lord, indeed, has called me to do specific things for His kingdom here on earth.  I must be faithful in carrying this out.  I must be careful to hear who the Lord appoints as helpers (as Moses was).  I also must be faithful and diligent in administering what needs to be done in order for the work to be done efficiently and productively "causing" God to bless the church where God has called me to be.
• The Lord also has given people the skill and ability to do specific things to help in building the kingdom of God through our sphere of influence.  I must encourage (or "summon") them to be willing in helping and having the motivation to bring "freewill offerings" to the Lord.

// Lord, I know you have graced me with the ability to do Your work.  Please help me to be faithful and diligent in carrying them out.  I know You are an infinite source of everything and I will trust in You.  Guide me through Oh Lord that I may not be derailed by the things of this world.  Lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name's sake all the days of my life.  I offer my life to You wholly.  In Jesus' name, amen.
