Wholly All Night

Week 7 Day 2
Leviticus 20-22; Acts 20

Acts 20:27
"For I have not held back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God." (GNT)

"For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God."  (NIV)

Paul, being a faithful Apostle of Christ, spoke all night to the Ephesian elders and told them everything he needed to tell them about Christ - at least at the time allotted for him.  He did not hold back, as he said.  He proclaimed everything that needed to teach them.

Paul must knew a lot to be talking ALL night.  What did he say?  How did he say it?  Did it have testimonies of what God has done for him in his missionary journey?  I think it must have a mixture of all those.  The important thing is that he did "not held back" anything from telling them "the whole will of God".

Tells me about his faithfulness in teaching, proclaiming, which includes studying the Scriptures so he will know what to say.  He was eager to share to them wholly.

// BELLE:

Have I been this eager to talk about God that I can talk about what He's done ALL NIGHT?  Perhaps, in all honesty, I haven't yet.  I must get to this point that I can talk about God and His purpose and His will (according to the Word) and perhaps, what God has been doing in my life for a very long amount of time.  Putting aside my own stories (besides the testimonies) that has nothing to do with what God has done or maybe, direct my stories to what God has done instead.

In my conversations, I must make it a point to lead it back to God's goodness, His will, His purpose, and all the good things God does for us.  May I be able to just have an outflow of God's goodness in my conversations that I'll be able to think and talk about Him "ALL NIGHT".

A good principle in teaching:  Do not hesitate to speak about God's whole purpose, whole will that is that revealed in His Word.  Let everything that is discussed be only bring about the glory of God and not our own agendas.

// Lord, I desire that all my conversations and all my thoughts are consumed only of what You do, what You have done, what You will do and what Your Word says especially when I teach Your Word.  I pray that you filter anything I have done before that may have brought attention away from Your purpose and Your will.  Please help me as I willfully redirect my thoughts to You alone, Jesus Christ.  Holy Spirit, may You guide my thoughts to only be thinking about You starting today.  Thank you for this awesome reminder and even a rebuke for the times I have had elevated my stories more than Yours.  Forgive me and I will do my best by the power of Your Holy Spirit to only speak Your truth and all Your goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.
