Dry and Unknown

Week 8 Day 6
Numbers 14-16; Mark 3

Numbers 14:1-4
1 That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3 Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

This was the time when the Israelites were complaining, terrified, and bored out of their mind while they were in the desert waiting for finally get into the Promised Land.  Too bad, none of them, except Caleb and Joshua, were able to make it there due to their disobedience and "grumblingness."  The Lord's omniscience knew all about these things from the start.  However, it was still their own choosing - to disobey, hence never made it to the land of milk and honey.

Lesson for the day:

There will come a time that a temptation in grumbling and complaining will arise as we are on our way to the final destiny of God's personal purpose in our lives.  We must be prepared for this types of seasons - a dry, desert-like season where it seems like we're going nowhere, or eating nothing but manna and quail, etc.  The temptation is to grab in to it and allowing the flesh to creep in - to wanna go back to Egypt (slavery) instead.

Times of dryness and unknown will come in life.  But we also know that as long as we remain in the living water of Christ's presence, we will be continually watered with gladness and joy even at the seasons of life where it seems desert-like.

Never make it an option to ever go back to your Egypt.  Survive, endure, and persevere!  Enjoy every scenic route you take and let God be God!

// BELLE:

Letting God be God in all things - that must be a motto for this season.  Never resorting back to a mediocre, enslaved lifestyle of the past, nor having a complaining attitude of where I am right now in perhaps, an unknown season.   I just gotta keep plowing and planting the good seeds of faithfulness, endurance, perseverance, and fulfillment in Christ Jesus!

Lord, You are God.  Let you be God in my life always!  You know how much I need you in all circumstance.  I know also that You will pull me through.  I lift everything up to you in Jesus' name, amen.
