Week 10 Day 6
Deut. 13-15; Gal. 1
Galatians 1:8-9
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
Deuteronomy 13:6
If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known...
// In Context:
Anyone preaching (whether a "prophet" or any dream interpreter, etc) other than the Gospel of Christ, we must not believe and as what Paul said, is under a curse!
The Gospel is the saving power of Jesus Christ through the cross where He died for our sins.
// Thoughts:
I could also render to this as someone (or even myself) who would preach other than the very word of God - in its full interpretation. Anything that could possibly be taken as "God's will" - apart from God's will (and His Word) could, in my opinion, be speaking something against the essence of God's plan for each individual life.
// Belle:
If I or anyone would be speaking anything against (or apart) from the very oracles of God, I must not believe (even myself).
I must ALWAYS be "accustomed" to the very Words of God through the written Word that I may be able to discern which "message" is actually contradicting to the will of God (especially His revealed will.)
// Lord, please be with me as I continually hear from You; that I will be discerning to find out which part really truly comes from You - of course, besides the revealed will of yours that You've mentioned in your Word. I pray that You will empower me as I hear You more and more. Please help me to discern these things even from the ones that may come from people I know would supposed to have known it too. Please help me to be sensitive that it won't be me as well. In Jesus' name, amen.
