Week 10 Day 6.5
Deut. 16-18
Deut 17:19-20; 18:20-21
19 It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees 20 and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.
20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”
21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?”
Kings and Prophets both mentioned on these passages. Both talked about the importance of being so near the Word of God; faithfully obeying and suibmitting to what it says.
King - to observe the Word in order to rule in a godly manner
Prophet - to make sure all words spoken are OF God; it is so of Him that it happens (what was prophesied) otherwise, it was just made up or just from the mind of the prophet
// Belle:
.. God's Word I must study, revere, and be faithful in reading no matter what. Memorizing and meditating and making sure that all that I teach are OF God.
.. As a leader, I must always do things that will not distract me from my service. Whatever is it that may hinder me from spending time with God's Word - people, things, and including my own laziness, I must "put to death" and stop it immediately. I must not do anything that will sway me away from what God has called me to do.
.. My job description is simple: Do and teach things in line with God's Word (and His leading).
// Lord, thank you for always reminding me about the importance of your Word; how powerful it is and how it is my light to guide my path. Please help me to strip anything that hinders me from being so on fire in hearing from You and or reading ur truths thru ur Word. Thank u so much for everything! In Jesus' name, amen!
