Delight, Empowered, Fear.

Week 23 Day 4
Ecc. 4-6; Psalm 18; Eph. 3

Psalm 18:17-18

 ¹⁷ He rescued me from my powerful enemies,
      from those who hated me and were too strong for me.
 ¹⁸ They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress,
      but the Lord supported me.

¹⁹ He led me to a place of safety;
      he rescued me because he delights in me.

// The Lord is my safety and refuge in times when I didn't have any "place" to go emotionally.  I must worship Him with my life!  He leads me to a safety place and rescues me IF He is delighted in the things I do.  I must enjoy and be a delight to Him; do whatever makes Him happy and joyous watching me live my life.

Ephesians 3

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. ¹⁷ Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. ¹⁸ And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. ¹⁹ May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

// Real empowerment comes from the Spirit.  He has unlimited resources and can provide me with strength.  Trusting in Christ means making Him "at home" in my heart; that He actually lives in my heart and He's free to do anything.  Trusting in God keeps me strong because my roots grows down as I continually trust in Him.

Ecclesiastes 5:7

Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead.

// In this world, there will be lots of activities, talks, insights, great and bad things that happen all around.  What's important is FEAR OF GOD - to be reverential in everything.  Everything I do will boil down to how much I fear God and what I will do about it - in light of what I know, said, and done!

Summary:

Delight in the Lord.
Let the Lord delight in what I do.
The Spirit empowers.
Trust in God will make me grow.
Fear God in all things! 

// LORD, I will live for You as You empower me because I fear You and love You!  I ask that You will guide me throughout this day that I will be a delight in Your eyes in all that I say and do.  Please help me to not just have a good time when I do my devotions, but each time I think about You whether with others or by myself.  Thank you for Your goodness!  You never change! In Jesus' name amen.
