1 Timothy 1:18-19 (Good News)
Timothy, my child, I entrust to you this command, which is in accordance with the words of prophecy spoken in the past about you. Use those words as weapons in order to fight well,19 and keep your faith and a clear conscience. Some people have not listened to their conscience and have made a ruin of their faith.Principles:
.. Prophecies or God's Word that affirms our call can be used as our weapon to fight well
.. Along with keeping our faith and having a clear conscience.
.. If in doubt of what you're supposed to be doing in God's kingdom (your call), go back to these prophecies. Whether literally prophecies or revealed individually by the Word of God. To use it as God's weapon to fight against those who may seem to fight what God has called you to do.
.. v. 19b - not listening to conscience can ruin your faith. Cling on to the Lord's words and fight with it.
- I will cling on to God's Word to affirm what he has called me to do.
- Keeping a clear conscience and growing in the faith.
- No matter what happens, I will just hang on to the Word of God as my weapon in fighting this battle; going back to the original call that God has for me when doubt arises or when people start to question me. I have back-ups! The Word of God, keeping a clear conscience and having faith.
