2 Chronicles 18:13 (GNT)
13 But Micaiah answered,
By the living Lord I will say what my God tells me to!
19:5-7
5 He appointed judges in each of the fortified cities of Judah6 and instructed them:
Be careful in pronouncing judgment; you are not acting on human authority, but on the authority of the Lord, and he is with you when you pass sentence.7 Honor the Lord and act carefully, because the Lord our God does not tolerate fraud or partiality or the taking of bribes.
The appointment of being a prophet or a judge or any sort of office in the kingdom of God is not an easy kind of call. There is a whole lot of responsibility involved, let alone all these responsibilities are directly answerable to God.
Micaiah
-- "I can tell him ONLY what my God says."
Jehoshaphat's order to the appointed judges
-- honor the Lord (fear Him)
-- act carefully; not in fraud or partiality or taking of bribes
We need to understand that we have a call to listen to those who are placed over us to lead, judge, provide guidance, etc. for they are answerable directly to God. God can deal with them however He wants to in His own perfect judgement and pleasure for His glory.
If we are the ones put in the position to do such tasks of guidance, giving sound judgement and providing direction to a body of people,
.. Tell ONLY what God says
.. Have the FEAR of the Lord within
.. Being CAREFUL - not being partial or in fraud or bribes - always taking the side of truth
// BELLE
.. I will be keen to what God says - spend time in hearing God first for His answer before giving any sort of advice or pronounce any kind of "judgement" to something
.. I will always keep my reverence for God fresh - communing with Him at all times possible
.. I will be watchful - my tongue and not being quick or hasty to give an opinion
.. ONLY speak of what God tells me to say as well as when to say them.
LORD, may you be always at work within me as you say you would. I want to be entirely keen with you. Please give me the ability to not give in to what may seem comfortable to say or do. Empower me Lord and I know that you will carry me through this task that you have given me as Youth Director. Guide me always and I will be sensitive to you as well. In Jesus' name, amen.
