He Will Show-Up

1 Kings 11-12 (NIV)

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper...

Mountains could tear apart
Rocks could shatter
Earthquake could shake the earth
Fire could consume all things

God can show up in any way He desires to... whatever pleases Him, sharpens us and brings glory to His name.

Elijah was eager to hear and meet God.
He waited to see which way God would "show up"
Few ways God would've showed up
But at those times, Elijah just kept waiting
Until he heard the whisper.
That's the way God chose to show up.

How willing are we to wait until God "shows up" to speak to us for something specific?  Be willing to wait no matter how long and however God wants to do it.

I will wait.  I will be keen.  No matter what kind of loud or soft way God will speak or show up, I will just wait.  Also means to remove anything that distracts in hearing God or for God to show up.

Lord, I know You always have your ways.  Please help me to remove any distractions that I may have... I pray that You will give me wisdom and the boldness to just "turn off" any kind of distraction I may have.  I just want to hear from you clearly and see you "show up" in any way You want.  Please get me ready and give me the endurance to wait  on You.  In Jesus' name, amen.
