1 Timothy 5:22
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
- It is important to not be hasty in appointing someone in office.
- We ought to be sure first that they are "fit" to be in the position so that they may be well in handling the affairs of its office.
- It is to the protection of the ministry to also not "share" the wrongdoings of one who's appointed in the office.
As Proverbs says, "Don't trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost." (Proverbs 20:25 NLT) thus it be important to "count the cost" or "be fit" first before appointing and/or dedicating oneself to a position or to commit to a vow.
// LORD, forgive me if I have failed you on this at some point in my realm of leaderhips. I pray that You please help me to make things right, to some whom I may have done this rashly. And even to the ones I have done to myself as well. Help me to be very careful in vows and not be hasty about it. Thank you for such reminder and I will obey you! in Jesus' name, amen.
