“Back-Up” Plan

Isaiah 29:15; 30:1-2

15 Woe to those who go to great depths
   to hide their plans from the LORD,
who do their work in darkness and think,
   “Who sees us? Who will know?”

1 “Woe to the obstinate children,”
   declares the LORD,
“to those who carry out plans that are not mine,
   forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit,
   heaping sin upon sin;
2 who go down to Egypt
   without consulting me;
who look for help to Pharaoh’s protection,
   to Egypt’s shade for refuge.

The Lord makes a big deal with those who “hide their plans from the Lord”; those who make up their own thinking that it’s better or it’ll be okay or it’ll be a back-up plan if God’s don’t come right away or is not made known in a timeframe we expect it to be.

Man looks for “back-up” plans as the Israelites did (Quest.) When the plans of the Lord do not work out in our limited mindset, or if it does not show up “on time”, we say, we’d try to have something that will make things stable for us.

We must not hide our plans from the Lord; not like He does not see them already even at the onset of crafting them.

We must, instead, TRUST in the timing of the Lord, the provision of the Lord, the justice of the Lord and the leading of the Lord.  If the Lord is our tour guide in this life journey, we don’t need any “back-up” plan because He’s seen all the in’s and out’s of our trip.

// Am I looking for “back-up” plans?  I do not understand, at this moment, what this means exactly.  But, I will trust in the Lord’s plans.  If any of what I am about to do or am doing at this moment is acting towards a “back-up” plan, I will trust the Lord and will be submissive to the Lord’s detour.  I will trust in His plans for me.

// Lord, I’m not sure what this “back-up” plan is in relationship to what I am doing right now.  I pray that You make it clear and that I will be obedient to get rid of anything that is acting as a “back-up” instead of trusting Your plans that are ahead of me  for Your glory and honor.  I lift this up to you and glorifying You all the way.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
