Better Country

Hebrews 11:16

Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

All the heroes of faith enumerated in the book of Hebrews 11 shows us a pathway of what we ought to be as God’s children – longing forward to what’s coming ahead; not thinking about what we may have left behind for the glory of God’s name – wherever He leads us to go.  God is looking for people who are willing to be moved wherever He pleases.  We can trust that God, when He guides to elsewhere than what we expected, has them all figured out for us and there’s nothing to worry about.  Our mindset as well must be looking forward to this “better country” at all times… as long as our goal is reach to God’s better country, then we know that we may be leaving behind (though are good things), are still nothing as in comparison to where God is leading us next towards this “better country.”

What great assurance for me as I walk towards this “better country.”  God will not be ashamed to be called my God as well if I am always looking and moving towards that regardless of what I may be leaving behind.  My heart will be on the “better country” and just be led wherever God wants to lead me!

Lord, I am an open book to You.  Help me to be immediately obeying you in all things no matter what the cost or what I may be leaving behind.  I just want to do what you will in my life because you are all that matter to me!  I love You in Jesus’ name, amen.
