Isaiah 9:17
17 And so the Lord will not let any of the young men escape, and he will not show pity on any of the widows and orphans, because all the people are godless and wicked and everything they say is evil. Yet even so the Lord's anger will not be ended, but his hand will still be stretched out to punish.
The Lord our God is holy. He does not tolerate evil nor any form or word of wrongdoing. We see that the Lord is beyond angry towards Israel. Why? Because they were very disobedient to the Lord to the point that God’s anger has been prolonged. We see that the Lord is serious about His grace and His wrath towards people. We must not question when the Lord does not show pity anymore on us when we ourselves are doing ungodly things over and over. We can also rest assure that those who are doing wrong will not be left unpunished. God is just and He will show Himself both to the godly and the ungodly. What is our choice today?
_Through Christ, I have been given a new life. God is now looking at Jesus who lives in me ~~ therefore, I must show that He really does. Praise God, God’s anger does not rest on me any longer because of Christ. Yet, I ought to live my life in accordance to the holiness of Christ who lives in me. Does my life show that God lives in me? Day after day, I will show Christ to the world – around me and to those I will meet. Life is short, live for Jesus!
_Lord, I sometimes do think about those who are doing ungodly things and yet are not punished. I am not thinking about their destruction but I sometimes wonder at how single and one-side minded man is, like me. I know that you do not tolerate evil, so I know that I can trust in You to take care of the evil things going on in this world. My job is just to live my life in accordance with your Word and showing that Christ indeed live in me. I can also be a vessel to show people that you have an overflowing fountain of forgiveness available to them. I just wanna live for you! In Jesus’ name, amen.
