Be Holy

1 Peter 1:14-16

14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

God is holy.

Christian people have the tendency to still conform to the evil desires that used to live within us while we were living in ignorance.

God calls us to be holy IN ALL WE DO.

What does it mean to be holy?

-- anything impure is not acting in holiness.  From our hearts, our minds, our speech, our motives, etc.. it must be without blame or spot.  Yes, we still mess up, but that is not our option to be excused from being holy because it must be our goal to strive holiness on a day to day basis.

// I must make sure to filter out my thoughts, my motives, my speech, and my actions to make sure that I am without blame; always pure and holy.  Christ is my holiness positionally, but I must live holiness practically.

// Lord, you know how difficult this is sometimes but I know that you are my strength.  I pray that You help me to just always correct and rebuke myself when I tend to have my motives, my thoughts, and my actions in the wrong direction; when they are impure or unholy.  Please please help me to catch it immediately and take action.  Thank you for reminding me always and guiding me through each day.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
