Deuteronomy 4:35 (NLT)
“He showed you these things so you would know that the Lord is God and there is no other.”
Just like the Israelites went through a “hell of Egypt” in their lifetime, God still proved Himself to be God. We may have gone through similar hellish experiences and situations in life; times when we would want our “cups to be taken away from us” but yet, we know that those who have fully entrusted lives to Christ will rather go through them and let God’s will to come to pass.
God allows many things to happen in our lives for a reason – to let us know that the Lord is GOD and there is no other! Thus, we must thank God all the more for the experiences we go through in life; the times when we thought we couldn’t go on, the happy moments, the times when we heard God so clearly, the times when we were discouraged, etc. for it is during those times when God showed up the most (or that we noticed Him the most!)
// I have no reason to complain about what’s going on around me. I must always believe that God is God and there is no other. In hellish situations, I must think positively and truthfully that God will still be God. I must be sensitive to Him and His presence because I know that He is cooking something gourmet for me after this earthly trial – not only in heaven, as promised, but also on earth.
Lord, thank You for the experiences that You allow me to go through. As hard as they may be sometimes, I thank you that you never change and that Your mercy and grace will abound all my life. I love you, in Jesus’ name amen.
