Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

I've heard a recent podcast about Time Management.  It talked about people who waste time doing other things instead of what's needed to be done - even if it's for "unwinding" moments.  There is a time for everything and there is a time when we do things in its appropriate time.  But for whatever we are called to do at specific moments, it is important that we know we are serving the Lord Christ - not just mere human beings.  Many times I am all left to do things without anyone looking behind or above my shoulders.  It is all left to my integrity to do the work I am assigned to do.  The question is, do we only do the work well when there's someone who is going to approve things?  Or do we always do a good job even when there's no one to approve of it in the physical realm?  Paul reminds us to DO IT AS UNTO THE LORD.  No matter whether we are being approved here on earth or not, we need to remember that it is the Lord who will have the last say of things.

I need to be more diligent in my work.  I know in the past, I have been operating well because someone can see and approve my work.  Yes, I know I am working for the Lord and I am serving Him, but that is not always the first thing that comes to mind.  I will reprogram my mind to always just remember IT IS THE LORD CHRIST I AM SERVING.  So whether I am being approved by a human being or not, whether there is someone looking or watching what I am doing or not; whether someone sees or does not see the accomplishments of what I do, I need to remember that I AM DOING IT AS UNTO THE LORD.  It is for Him - therefore, all the more I must be excellent.

Lord, please help me to continually be motivated to do excellent work - whether approved by someone human or not.  I know you must have the last say and I need to always remember that Your approval is what matters the most.  I pray that You will help me to be more diligent in my work that even if no one is there to approve of it, that I will still have a clear conscience that I did a good job - that my job is clean and excellent.   Please help me at times when I feel lazy and do not feel like I should be doing something well.  Please guide me and divert my thoughts of seeking for 'man-approval'.  I know you approve of me, and help me to be fully content with that.  Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
