1 Peter 5:8-11
Be self-controlled and vigilant always, for your enemy the devil is always about, prowling like a lion roaring for its prey. Resist him, standing firm in your faith and remember that the strain is the same for all your fellow-Christians in other parts of the world. And after you have borne these sufferings a very little while, God himself (from whom we receive all grace and who has called you to share his eternal splendour through Christ) will make you whole and secure and strong. All power is his for ever and ever, amen!
There is strength in numbers! When I think about this (highlighted phrase above), it tells me that people all around are going through the same struggles as I am - whatever the enemy brings to us is what he brings to everyone in various forms. Therefore, I cannot think that it's just me who is experiencing whatever struggle I may be going through. The enemy is real and is always looking for someone to devour. Through joining ourselves together with other believers who are going through the same struggles, it gives us more power to fight the struggles we have because it encourages and strengthens us even just by being together. Being together can mean in spirit, in mind, online, in fellowships, or even other media.
I will stand firm in my faith knowing that other people are going the similar situations as I am. With that, I know that I can be of help to others as well as encourage myself through the experiences of others who have been victorious in areas I may be currently struggling in. I will learn from others through whatever means I have within my reach and will also do my best to be reachable and available to those who are going through struggles as well.
Lord, help me to be strong and to stand firm in the midst of trials and struggles in life. You are good and I know that You will never give us anything we cannot take or handle. Use me to encourage others as I also continually humble myself in learning from others too. Thank you for the reminder that I need to always be watchful and vigilant as I know that devil always tries to look for someone whom he can devour. I have Your power in me, therefore, I trust that I will be able to overcome! Thank YOU! In Jesus' name, amen.
