Don't Count

But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the Lord had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens. Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David. (1 Chronicles 27:23, 24 KJV)

When The Lord promises something, take Him at His word and don't test Him by "counting" or "double checking" to see if what He promised is really true or going to happen.

Have I been trying to "count" on God to see if what He promised to me is true?  What are His promises to me? That He will provide, that as long as I obey and stay faithful He will pour out blessings, etc. Am I testing God's goodness instead of just completely trusting Him? I sometimes do "count" when I plan my own "provisions" of what the future holds and having "back ups" if things don't work out the way they should instead of just going with the flow of God's call... To not be afraid to "take leaps of faith".

Lord, please help me not to test your promises but rather to just trust in You fully - through and through.  In Jesus' name, amen.
