Wise or Foolish?

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. (Proverbs 9:7-9 NIV)

The wise welcomes correction.  While fools despise it.

You can pretty much determine whether is a person is wise or foolish - by the way they respond to correction, rebuke or suggestion.

// How do I respond to correction, rebuke or suggestions? With ease or hunger to receive it, or with reluctance, excuses and insults?  If I am not yet wise, I need to hustle to work it out to be wise by daily choosing to receive correction or rebuke or suggestions with ease.  If not, I may be a fool myself.

// Lord, thank you for the reminder and as well, the wisdom on how to spot people who are wise as well as the foolish, that I may not waste time on those who do not want the wisdom imparted.  Help me to daily choose you - your wisdom even if it means to listen to the wisdom of those who I am annoyed with at times or those who may not necessarily have my best interest.  At wisdom given, I'll be grateful.  Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
